R100GS tracker

Here is an interesting project : how to customize a big and heavy BMW R100GS Paris-Dakar into a manageable and light street tracker.

Why starting from such a big bike? First of all, I like its lumberjack soul made for heavy duty on any surface, any distance, any weather. It is a trail-bike designed to deliver its legendary torque at low revs. After a slimming from 260 kg (wet) to 188 kg, any throttle order generates great accelerations.

With a bigger fork for accurate handling, 19 inches front wheel for maneuverability, R1150 brake callipers and R1200GS front brake master cylinder for powerfull braking, you’ve got in your hands a fabulous street tracker for great riding pleasure.

The aesthetic is vintage though slightly aggressive, directly inspired from the American flat-track bikes of the 70’s. The dirt-track Wood seat and the /5 BMW tank give this bike the thinness that break with usual bulky BMW bikes.
